Mountaineer Doctor Television

Technology

Mountaineer Doctor Television (MDTV) provides multiple telehealth and educational service offerings utilizing both software and hardware based platforms.  Our robust network provides flexibility for our end users.  The integration between both hardware and software-based platforms allows the participants more freedom to choose whichever device is more convenient for them to use.

Multi-point connections are made possible through two Multipoint Control Units (MCU) that MDTV owns and operates. We have one 12 port standard definition Codian MCU as well as one 20 port high definition Codian MCU. Both bridges can support H.323 (IP) and H.320 (ISDN) protocols.

MDTV is responsible for supporting all of the videoconferencing hardware and software located throughout the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center and Chestnut Ridge Hospital.

The majority of all centrally scheduled rooms throughout the Health Sciences Center are now equipped with videoconferencing technology.  In addition, several departments have utilized our expertise to outfit their conference rooms with videoconferencing technology. Event participants can easily join these conferences using any of the following devices:

  • Videoconferencing Hardware
  • Desktop Computer
  • Laptop
  • Tablet
  • Mobile Device
