Configure Outlook Mobile App for iOS/Android devices

Configure Outlook App for iOS Mobile Devices

First, if you do not have the Outlook for iOS app on your device, download Outlook for iOS from the App Store. WVU HSC ITS requires the Outlook app for accessing university email.

Delete Account from iOS Mail App:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Mail > Accounts.
  2. Tap your WVU Exchange account email.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Tap Delete to Confirm.

Set up Outlook on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Install the Outlook app from the App Store.
  2. Open the Outlook app and enter your WVU email address and tap Add Account.
  3. Enter your WVU Login credentials and authenticate with Duo.
  4. You will then be prompted for a password, enter your WVU password. You may then receive a Duo prompt.
  5. If prompted to add another account, tap “Maybe Later”.
  6. Intro pages will appear, skip, or view as desired.
  7. A prompt to enable notifications will appear. Turn on this option.
  8. Outlook will begin syncing to the server and then be ready for use.
  9. You will need to remove your WVU email from the native iOS mail app.

Configure Outlook App for Android Mobile Devices

Delete Account:

  1. Open your mail app.
  2. Tap the menu and scroll to settings.
  3. Tap the 3-dot menu.
  4. Tap Manage Accounts.
  5. Tap Exchange and tap Remove Account.
  6. Now that the account has been removed, you can add it back with modern authentication using the Outlook app.

Set up Outlook on an Android device:

  1. Install the Outlook app from the Google Play store.
  2. Open the Outlook App and tap Get Started.
  3. Outlook may detect your Google Accounts.
    • To add your HSC email, tap Skip.
  4. Enter your full WVU email address and tap Continue.
  5. Enter your WVU Login credentials, then tap Sign In and authenticate with Duo.
  6. A prompt to enable notifications may appear. Turn on this option.
  7. Outlook will begin syncing to the server and then be ready for use.
